PRODUCT OF SOUTH AFRICA

ORIGIN

This creative product that was "born" combines the three main Mission Critical elements, to Entertain, Educate and making it Accessible to all, with perfect harmony.

Designed for a purpose.

When the creator of the game's son, Franco, was 7 years old and already playing rugby from his pre-primary school days, he sought a platform which he could use to not only expose his son to all the different dynamics of the game of Rugby (which was running thick in his family's blood with Franco's late grandfather on mothers side playing provincial rugby for Griekwas in his younger days), but also educate him on all the different rules and referee signals.
A DIY board game based on the sport of Rugby was born which could assist him with the above, with the fun-element rendering the "learn while you play" edge. The sound foundation which was laid through hours of fun and learning rendered sufficient exposure to game tactics and rule interpretation to ensure his 2.06m son's successful school rugby career with him playing for his school's First Rugby Team in Grade 11 and 12 (which unfortunately was hampered by the impact of the Covid-19 virus).
Now, 12 years after building the original game, "RUGBY-IN-A-BOX" was taken from the shelf, dusted and after several years of friends trying to convince the creator of the value of his design, (through the grace of God) RUGBY BOKX is available to all who share the passion for the game.
The game of "RUGBY".

The rugby union match played between Scotland and England on 27 March 1871 was the world's first international rugby match. The match was played at Raeburn Place, Edinburgh in front of 4,000 spectators. Scotland won the match, scoring two tries and a goal to England's single try.
In 2016, the total number of registered players increased from 2.82 million to 3.2 million while the total number of non-registered rugby players rose from 4.91 million to 5.3 million.
Rugby is currently played in more than 120 countries world-wide with millions and millions supporters of all ages, gender and socio-economic background either filling massive stadiums each weekend or sitting nailed in front of a television.
It's this camaraderie, interlinked with the human's natural competitive edge, that not only makes Rugby a loved sport to play and watch, but is also the core around which RUGBY BOKX was developed and released.
In case you should ask, "Why desig a board game based on Rugby?", all the above hopefully will convince you to try it yourself and get an answer......
The 3 Pillars of RUGBY_Bokx

The 3 Pillars on which RUGBY BOKX were build are:
-
ENTERTAINING - to enjoy precious time with your loved ones around a fun-filled board game is something money can't buy and in line with the creator of the game's daily life values.
-
EDUCATIONAL - As indicated earlier, the game originated from a need to teach the sport of rugby and still play a crucial part in the total design and purpose thereof, including future expansions.
-
ACCESSIBLE - In a country like South Africa with its diverse rainbow-nation, making new technology and designs available to all levels of society is a challenge very few succeed in, something the game's design and play attempt to achieve.
As the saying goes "The proof of the pudding is in the eating", the strength and durability of the above mentioned pillars will only be known as time progresses and exposure to the game extends.
As the game is still in its final development stage, new ideas, confirmation of existing principles and constructive criticism of participants will ultimately prove if all the effort was worth the while....
